Okanagan tee times, without a fake clock

Calgary's city courses share one public rule: four days out, at a posted hour. The Okanagan does not. Kelowna, Penticton, and Vernon clubs each decide how far ahead you can book, and they change it for tournaments and shoulder season. This page will not give you a table of release times we did not read off each club this week. It will tell you which courses ParFetch actually searches, and how to use that search when you are driving the valley for a Saturday.

The courses in the search

These are the bookable Okanagan courses on our coverage list. If a course you play is missing, the contact page is how it gets added. We do not show a course we cannot read a tee sheet for.

Kelowna and West Kelowna. Black Mountain Golf Club, Shannon Lake Golf Course, Sunset Ranch Golf and Country Club, Tower Ranch Golf Club, Two Eagles Golf Course. Search Kelowna.

Penticton and the South Okanagan. Fairview Mountain Golf Club, Nk'Mip Canyon Desert Golf Course, Osoyoos Golf Club, Penticton Golf and Country Club, Summerland Golf and Country Club. Search the South Okanagan.

Vernon. Predator Ridge Golf Resort, Spallumcheen Golf and Country Club, The Rise Golf Course. Search Vernon.

That is 13 courses. British Columbia on ParFetch is bigger than the Okanagan: the Columbia Valley, Golden, and the Cranbrook–Kimberley–Fernie area are on the coverage page too. They are a different drive. Do not expect a Kelowna search to include Radium.

How to learn a club's window without trusting a blog

Open the club's own booking page, not a roundup article. Look for a sentence like "book X days in advance" or a calendar that simply will not click past a certain date. Write it down next to the course name. Resort courses often let members or hotel guests book further out than a visitor who arrived on Thursday. If the page does not say, the calendar is the rule: the first greyed-out day is the end of the window.

Do that once per club you actually play. Five clubs is an hour. It is also the only course-by-course guide that stays true, because we are not going to publish "Tower Ranch opens at 7 a.m." unless Tower Ranch's site says so and we have checked the date. A wrong hour wastes a morning. An empty cell is more useful.

What search is for

Search answers a different question than the window. The window is when new days appear. Search is what is still free now, at every course in that area, in one list. You pick a day and a rough time. Times come live from each course's booking system. If the club has not released that day, it will not be in the list, which is a clue about the window, not a broken search.

Tap a time and you are on the club's site to reserve and pay. ParFetch does not take the green fee, does not hold the time, and does not know your hotel package. The price on our list is approximate. Carts, tax, and twilight rates show up at checkout.

A watch for the Saturday you are driving toward

Logged in, after a search, Watch these courses lets you pick courses from the results, up to three active watches at a time. One notification per watch, the first time a matching time appears, then the watch rests until you turn it back on. That is the right tool for "tell me if Predator Ridge or The Rise opens a late Saturday," and the wrong tool for "watch all 13." Three is the limit. Drop a watch when the trip moves.

iPhone and iPad alerts need ParFetch on your Home Screen: Safari, Share, Add to Home Screen, then open it from the icon. Until you do that, ParFetch will not turn a watch on from Safari and shows you those steps instead. Android and desktop ask for permission in the browser.

A watch fires when we can see a time. It does not sit in a member presale, and it does not move you up a resort's guest queue. If the only times left are member times, you will see nothing, because those times are not on the public sheet we read.

A valley Saturday, in order

The same habits as Calgary apply, without Calgary's single municipal clock. Read the Calgary release guide only if you are playing there on the way through. It is not the Okanagan rule.

Seven days free, then $6 a month. Cancel on the account page. If a course on this list is wrong, tell us on the contact page with the course name and its website.
