How far ahead you can book a tee time in Alberta

Alberta does not have one booking window. Two cities publish a rule for their own municipal courses. Every other club, including most of the courses ParFetch searches, sets its own, or does not publish one. If a page gives you a single number for the whole province, it is wrong.

City of Calgary: four days, and the hour depends on the course

City of Calgary courses release tee times four days ahead. Shaganappi 18 and Valley 9 at 7 a.m., Confederation and Lakeview at 8, Maple Ridge at 9, McCall Lake 18 and Par 3 at 10. Same-day booking runs until one hour before tee-off, or you can walk on when there is space. That clock is only those City courses. It is written up, with the City's own page linked, on when Calgary tee times open. The City has moved the clock before. Read their page the week you play.

ParFetch's Calgary search includes 16 bookable courses, not only the municipal ones. Elbow Springs, Lynx Ridge, Sirocco, Valley Ridge, and the rest are not on that 7, 8, 9, and 10 a.m. schedule. The Calgary course list is the set we search.

City of Edmonton: up to 7 days, and only three courses

The City of Edmonton says you can book a tee time up to 7 days in advance at Victoria, Riverside, and Rundle. The page does not name an opening hour. Do not borrow Calgary's 7 a.m. Source: the City's green fees page. Walk-ons, the $10 late-cancel fee, and the fact that ParFetch does not search those three are on when Edmonton tee times open.

Everyone else: we will not invent the window

The 11 Edmonton-area courses we do search, from Broadmoor and Jagare Ridge through The Ranch, are not on the City's 7-day book. Calgary's daily-fee clubs outside the City sheet are not on the four-day clock either. Some clubs post a window. Some only show the days that still have space. Some want a phone call. The honest step is to read that club's booking page and write down what it actually says.

We do not keep a private table of rumoured release times. A number that is not on the operator's site does not belong on this one. Coverage is the full list of courses we search in Alberta and BC. British Columbia clubs are the same rule: no window on this page unless we have cited the operator, and this page does not cite them.

What to do with that in the spring

  1. Decide which course. Municipal Calgary and municipal Edmonton are the only Alberta clocks printed here.
  2. For any other course, open the club site before you set an alarm.
  3. Search what is open that day. Calgary and Edmonton are separate searches. ParFetch does not book the time or charge the green fee.
  4. Opening day for the season is not the same as how far ahead you can book once the sheet exists. Neither city has posted next spring's opening date on the pages cited above. We will not fill that in.

Where a watch helps

After you are logged in and you have run a search, tap Watch these courses, pick courses from those results, and tap Turn on alert. You can have up to three course watches on at once. ParFetch keeps checking those watches and sends one notification per course watch, the first time a matching time is there, then the watch rests until you turn it back on from your account. It is not a stream of pings. On an iPhone or iPad, alerts work only after you add ParFetch to your Home Screen from Safari's Share button and open it from that icon. Android and desktop ask for notification permission in the usual way.

A watch does not enter a booking queue, hold a time, or pay the green fee. When you tap a time, you finish on the course's own site. Trial is 7 days, then $6 a month. Cancel from the account page.

Tell me when booking opens

Leave your email on the Calgary guide: one note when booking opens, and nothing else.
